Freeing Carter By: Nyrae Dawn

Freeing Carter By: Nyrae Dawn

"His whole life Carter’s fought to hold it together: To help Mom run their store. To be there for his special needs sister, Sara, and be the perfect boyfriend Mel wants. To dominate on the basketball court—the only place he ever feels free. And to carry Mom up the stairs when she’s too smashed to make it on her own.

It isn't like she has a problem. Mom loves them. If she doesn't drink every day, she's not really an alcoholic, right?

Wrong.

Then Kira Dawson, a girl with a bipolar wardrobe and rotating hairstyles comes to town. Somehow, she sees the truths he hides from the world. “You have skeletons, too, Carter Shaw. Don’t think I don’t know it.” For the first time, he wants someone to see his inner scars—to really know him.

When his mom finally goes too far, will Carter be able to man-up, even if it means turning his back on her and stepping out from behind the façade he’s fought so hard to keep in place?" -Goodreads

So I rated this one an amazing 5 stars on goodreads.

I'm really starting to love Nyrae Dawn, she doesn't make her romance books sappy and love stricken and just plain frustrating.

This whole book is really about Carter which is weird with it being a romance novel but not that its bad. In fact its quite refreshing, We don't get a look into Kira's head like you do in most books, and in reality thats not a bad thing. Shes a wonderful person and we get all we need to know out of her just by the descriptions Nyrae gives of her. Now Carter is very smart and his head is always full and running through things and thinking about things. I have to give props because she makes the whole book kind of crazy and make sense at the same time. She lets us into Carters head which is a cluster fuck of thinking and trying to solve issues and we get the idea that hes confused and stressed and can't stay thinking about one thing back and forth... and yet its clear it makes sense it isn't just a mess of words, its really interesting how she made everything fit. I love it when a writer and consistantly write good books, not just one, not just the same series... but a different range and style of books and each of them be good.

I deffinetly suggest this book to everyone. Didn't make me cry but it was a story worth hearing and it was eloquently written.

Charade By: Nyrae Dawn

Charade By: Nyrae Dawn

"Nineteen-year-old Cheyenne tries to portray the perfect life to mask the memories of her past. Walking in on her boyfriend with another woman her freshman year in college threatens that picture of perfection.

Twenty-one-year-old Colt never wanted college and never expected to amount to anything, but when his mom's dying wish is for him to get his degree, he has no choice but to pretend it's what he wants too.

Cheyenne needs a fake boyfriend to get back at her ex and Colt needs cash to take care of his mom, so they strike a deal that helps them both. But what if Cheyenne’s past isn’t what she thought? Soon they’re trading one charade for another—losing themselves in each other to forget about their pain. The more they play their game, the more it becomes the only thing they have that feels real.

Both Cheyenne and Colt know life is never easy, but neither of them expect the tragedy that threatens to end their charade and rip them apart forever." - Goodreads

I rated this book a 5 on goodreads.

Absolutely brilliant, This book had me attached from page one. It wasn't just because it was weird at the beginning... its because it was sooo intense. It starts off by her walking in on her boyfriend! Yea major intro. And btw Gregory is an asshatt... I would knock him down a couple notches if I ever had the disgusting privilege of meeting someone like him.. And Colt is just sad and he doesn't want anyone to know it.

Now Chey is amazing she's strong and understanding but shes really alone cause she doesn't want anyone to know anything about her or want to depend on her.. This whole book is really well thought out and its just a wonderful read. I seriously cried for like about 15 minutes near the end there. If you read it you'll understand. Nyrae really just puts to words out there just so perfectly that you feel everything on those pages.

I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone!

The Sea of Tranquility By: Katja Millay

The Sea of Tranquility by: Katja Millay

"I live in a world without magic or miracles. A place where there are no clairvoyants or shapeshifters, no angels or superhuman boys to save you. A place where people die and music disintegrates and things suck. I am pressed so hard against the earth by the weight of reality that some days I wonder how I am still able to lift my feet to walk.

Full of rage and without a purpose, former pianist Nastya Kashnikov wants two things: to get through high school without anyone discovering her past and to make the boy who took everything from her pay.

All 17 year-old Josh Bennett wants is to build furniture and be left alone, and everyone allows it because it’s easier to pretend he doesn’t exist. When your name is synonymous with death, everyone tends to give you your space.

Everyone except Nastya, a hot mess of a girl who starts showing up and won’t go away until she’s insinuated herself into every aspect of his life. The more he gets to know her, the more of a mystery she becomes. As their relationship intensifies and the unanswered questions begin to pile up, he starts to wonder if he may ever learn the secrets she’s been hiding or if he even wants to.

The Sea of Tranquility is a slow-building, character-driven romance about a lonely boy, an emotionally fragile girl, and the miracle of second chances." -goodreads

I rated this one a 5 on goodreads.

This is seriously intriguing and a wonderful read. Nastya is a messed up to the hilt. She is absolutely ruined from an attack early on in her life. She died and in doing so a huge part of her died along with that moment. Josh is also messed up, but in a completely different way, hes never died.. but everyone else around him has. He is alone and he always has been. The two don't have a boom bang fireworks relationship that is in a bunch of romances now a days its more of a journey.. which in my opinion is more what a real life situation would be.. This is a brilliant display of love and the journey and struggles it takes for two people with actual issues to come together.

Clash (Crash #2) by Nicole Williams

Clash By: Nicole Williams

"The only easy thing about Jude and Lucy’s relationship is their love for one another. Everything else is hard.

Especially when it comes to reigning in Jude’s trigger touch temper and Lucy’s increasing jealousy of Jude’s Spirit Sister on the cheer squad who’s attached herself to him in just about every way a girl could. Feeling the stress of trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy while becoming the foremost dancer in her class, Lucy knows something’s going to break. She wants both. She needs both. But if she doesn’t make a choice, she risks losing everything.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love might be the thing that just isn’t enough." - goodreads

I freaking adored this one, even better than the first.
I gave it a wopping 5 stars on goodread and placed it in the favorites of course.

This book was way better than the first and The first book was good. There was so much emotional ups and down in the book you just honestly didn't know if they were going to get back together. It was hard at times reading cause you wanted to scream at the book and tell Luce that she is being irrational. But other than the hair pulling extreams you must go to while reading this book Its and absolute must read.

Nicole makes us see the changes in Jude from the first book and how big a role Lucy really does play in his life even if she doesn't see it.. And we all know an Adrianna so uhmm on that note you'll like the outcome of that little sitiation...

Definitely read it you'll see what I mean.

Crash (crash #1) By Nicole Williams

Crash By: Nicole Williams

" Southpointe High is the last place Lucy wanted to wind up her senior year of school. Right up until she stumbles into Jude Ryder, a guy whose name has become its own verb, and synonymous with trouble. He's got a rap sheet that runs longer than a senior thesis, has had his name sighed, shouted, and cursed by more women than Lucy dares to ask, and lives at the local boys home where disturbed seems to be the status quo for the residents. Lucy had a stable at best, quirky at worst, upbringing. She lives for wearing the satin down on her ballet shoes, has her sights set on Juilliard, and has been careful to keep trouble out of her life. Up until now.

Jude's everything she needs to stay away from if she wants to separate her past from her future. Staying away, she's about to find out, is the only thing she's incapable of.

For Lucy Larson and Jude Ryder, love's about to become the thing that tears them apart." -goodreads

I freaking loved this book. I rated it 5 stars and put it under my favorites.

Now I went ahead and read the next book before writing this review so i'm super sorry if I add something.

Lucy and Jude are two infuriatingly messed up people; Lucy with her family history, and Jude with basically his whole past. Jude is a sex addict and someone who just doesn't know how to love for real. Lucy is a matriarch wanting to help everything and everyone even though it does nothing to gain her. I think shes so attracted to Jude because she thinks she can fix his life, even though she has no clue how to fix hers.

The description of the book leads it to believe that its not a very interesting book, but if you like romances then you will love this book there are cliff hangers at every chapter and you just can't put it down... obviously you've seen this cause I read both books within a couple hours. Now Jude is all sorts of messed up but if a guy ever payed that much attention or showed that much devotion I would die and go to heaven. Definitely the reason I kept reading.

Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry

"Pushing The Limits" by Katie McGarry

This is a wonderful book written by Katie.

"No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal. But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again."
- Goodreads

I gave this a 5 star, This is a wonderful book, I seriously love it. Katie really went in depth with the characters. Echo is a really disturbed girl who's had a terrible thing happen to her and she just doesn't know how to handle it because its such a drastic change from who she was. And Noah is totally depressed he may not want to admit it but after his parents death he is totally irreparable. Together they grow a bond because they are so alike in the fact that they are so abnormal.

This wasn't a tear-jerker but it was really touching. What Echo goes through can happen to many people, the baby sitter really? And she acts like any young girl should. I totally recommend this book for it will not disappoint.

Witch (Doppelganger #2) by Marie Brennan

"Witch" By: Marie Brennan

"When a witch is born, a doppelganger is created. For the witch to master her powers, the twin must be killed. Until now...

Created by the merging of witch and doppelganger, Mirei is a unique being. Her extraordinary magic makes her the most powerful witch alive—and a notorious social outcast. While Satomi, the leader of the witches’ ruling Primes, hails Mirei as a miracle, rival Primes proclaim that Mirei is an evil abomination... and that those who champion her must be destroyed.

Now the different witch factions engage in a bloody war with magic, treachery, and murder. But both sides may be fighting for nothing. For the power that the rebel Primes fear, the magic that Mirei alone possesses, is killing her." - Goodreads

Now I rated Maries' first book a 4 on Goodreads but this one I have to give a 5 all the way.

Marie's story really took hold and came alive in this second book. She cut out all the uniteresting information and just kept the book going.

Mirei is a wonderful person and a very good protagonist, Marie doesn't put too much on her shoulders to make her unbelievable. Mirei has restrictions and limits and Marie really does stress that. She also plays things so intrinsically throughout the book that you just marvel at her wording and piecing together of this book.

I give this book a thumbs up, read the first book of course because you would be utterly lost but other than that you should read this book, its interesting and worth while.

Warrior (Doppelganger, #1) by Maire Brennan

"Warrior" By: Marie Brennan

"When a witch is born, a doppelganger is created. For the witch to master her powers, the twin must be killed. But what happens when the doppelganger survives?

Mirage, a bounty hunter, lives by her wits and lethal fighting skills. She always gets her mark. But her new mission will take her into the shadowy world of witches, where her strength may not be a match against powerful magic.

Miryo is a witch who has just failed her initiation test. She now knows that there is someone in the world who looks like her, who is her: Mirage. To control her powers and become a full witch, Miryo has only one choice: to hunt the hunter and destroy her." -  Goodreads

I gave this book an overall 4 on Goodreads.

The book wasn't bad at all in fact I quite enjoyed the mystery in it the unsolved puzzle if you will. But there were things in the reading that made it less enjoyable. Like an inner monolouge that doesn't really need to be in the book sometimes. Or details about what either Mirage or Miryo were thinking at the time.

Mirage and Miryo are complete opposites but they are in essence exactly the same. They see this when they meet up the first time. Its sad that Miryo is led to believe that killing Mirage is the only way to control her magic. With the stubbornness that they both hold as a trait they know that they will die trying to find a different way.

The story progresses fine but I think that chunks could have been less elaborated. More of a summary of what happened rather than the play by play.

All in all I think its a good read with a few minor flaws.

Haunted by Sammantha Lewis

"Haunted" By: Sammantha Lewis.

This book Is fairly new, and after reading You will understand why its not published under anyone.

"Avery didn't live a happy life like she wanted. No instead she lived horrible life with her foster parents at home and a life as a wall flower at school. And being able to see dead people did not help her self esteem. Needless to say Jericho, Levi never even spared her a glance until now. To Avery, Jericho is just toying with her only to leave her more alone then before. But to Jericho Avery is his mate and he has no intention of letting her go. However that means he has to save her, and keep her from leaving." -Goodreads

I wouldn't suggest this book to anyone. It isn't absolutely terrible but it is one of those books that you know someone just put on the internet just to try it out. There are grammatical errors all over the place, and she uses the wrong words. You can understand her meaning throughout the story but she will use a word that has no purpose of being in the sentence.

The story had a good guideline but everything moved too quickly, you jumped from her being a wall flower to her making out with jericho.. its just not very realistic. If you've never had any friends cause your an outsider you don't just makeout with people...

The story isn't very realistic and not something that I would recommend you read.

ReadingIsTheAddiction

I've started this blog because well.. I've read most of the books people are just now going to read. I read daily maybe more than one book a day, and I always have an opinion. I choose my books carefully; don't want to read an uninteresting book... But even the most cautious book reader comes across that one book that just can't be finished. If you'd like me to try your book out before you decide to buy or just kindle it I will gladly take suggestions, and I read quickly so your review will be fast.
